Hi there Hollowers! It’s Jen up on the blog today sharing a card using the January subscription box. If you love reading and books (I do!) this box is for you!

I started out creating my card panel using a piece of cream cardstock. I stamped a background of books using the stack of books image from the Coffee and Books stamp set. I wanted the background images to be tone on tone so I used Antique Linen Distress Ink. This created a subtle background that grounds the main image without taking away from it.

Next, I used International Paper Opaque 110 lb cardstock and stamped the girl reading the book image from the One More Chapter stamp set. Since I used Copic markers to color the image, I used Memento Black ink to stamp the image onto the cardstock. I did some really quick coloring of the image with my Copic Ciao markers.

I created the frame on the card using two dies from my stash and then colored the frame using a Copic Ciao marker. This frame was then popped up with foam tape and adhered to the card panel. The girl image was popped up with foam tape to match the height of the frame.

The sentiment that I used for this card is from the One Last Word sentiment stamp set. I love the sentiment, “We lose ourselves in books, we find ourselves there too”. I used a rich brown ink, Versafine Clair Fallen Leaves to stamp this up.

I finished off this card by adding a few enamel dots.

I’d love to see your projects using this Subscription Box. You can post them on The Hedgehog Hollow Box Facebook group as well as Stamping at the Hedgehog Hollow Facebook group.
