Hello all, this is Adam with some fun creating with the recent Hedgehog Hollow Subscription Box. The paper in the box makes great card foundations and so many designs keep popping into my head. We so often open a monthly box of goodies and exclaim how much we love the paper but find we do not use it. Not so with this month’s box. I am making the paper the star of my Valentine card. I must admit I love the adorable critters included in the Stamp set in this month’s box.
I started by choosing A sweet kitty to adorn my card. I colored it in using Copic markers. The design made me feel that it should be colored as a child would color a cat for their Valentine. I love the child like quality of these images. So much fun to create with.
The next step was to choose two coordinating pieces of paper that I combined with two neutral colors. The cream piece was cut to a standard A-2 layer then cut on the diagonal. Here is a secret: I meant for the diagonal to go the other direction but cut it wrong. I decided that it really wasn’t a mistake because I liked how it turned out! I then cut the coordinating paper and black layer to be the center or focal point of the card.
Now I needed a sentiment for the card so I die cut the word love in both black and matching green. I glued them together with a slight offset to highlight the sentiment.
To finish the card all I needed to do was the assembly. I began the process of glueing the pieces when I felt it needed something. I know you all have experienced that feeling. So I decided it needed a boarder around the whole card. I trimmed down the A-2 card front and attached it to a black A-2 card layer creating the boarder.
I hope you all enjoyed this quick and easy Valentine card and make many to share with your family and friends. Keep checking back to the blog for more ideas using the Hedgehog Hollow Subscription Box! Enjoy
