Hi Everyone!

I hope everyone is having a fun week! I have been playing with embossing powders and just had to dip back into the gorgeous May 2019 Hedgehog Hollow Box featuring illustrations by Sophia J. Caldwell.   It also has an amazing bag of chipboard words which I’ve used on an earlier card unembellished, but this time I decided to step up the chipboard with heat embossing!

To start my card, I stamped the large leafy circle image in embossing ink onto a panel of white Bristol Smooth cardstock.  Just before stamping, I used my finger to wipe off the ink on the words that are in the centre of the image (as I was adding my own sentiment).  I heat embossed the image with white embossing powder.

I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to paint the image – I used dark green and pulled it out with a waterbrush, fading out towards the edges of the leaves.  I also used a purple to add some interest to the circle frame and behind the leaves.  A little daring as purple and green mix together to make brown but it worked! I also added some touches of darker purple in flowers. I added lots of splatters for good measure !

I trimmed down the panel to 4″ x 5.25″ and mounted it onto one of the cardbases from the Box with foam tape.  I then chose one of the chipboard sentiments – the Love fit in really well. I decided to heat emboss it with WOW! Embossing Powder in Opaque Verdigris which is a mix of greens and golds.  It looks fab in real life. I added a couple of layers by dunking the chipboard into embossing ink and then sprinkling powder all over it.  I then adhered it to the circle slightly off centre. I added a sub-sentiment heat embossed in white onto light grey cardstock and popped up on foam tape.

As a finishing touch, I added some Morning Dew Nuvo Drops by Tonic Studios for a little shine without too much bling!

Hope you all have a great day!

Jenny
