Hello again! It’s Kari V. here with a fresh take on the January 2020 Hedgehog Hollow kit! I love it when there is so much versatility in a set. Today I am sharing a baby shower card where I mask the moon and create a cloudy background.
I used the largest moon stamp from the kit, and it is beautiful! I started by stamping that moon onto my cardstock with Copic-friendly ink.
Then I used some masking paper to create a mask and placed it over the moon. I stenciled on those clouds using my favorite domed blending tools and Distress Oxide Ink.
I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx black ink. Then I removed the mask and colored the moon up with Copic markers.
Those stars are stenciled on using some gold Glacier Paste….which looks so similar to foil when it dries! Such a fun medium to use for this card.
To finish it off, I added a sweet owl and her baby, some Nuvo Jewel Drops and a skinny frame around the entire panel. A quick note: the green Nuvo drops did crack on one of the larger diamonds. These are meant for smaller areas, but I did think it would be fine for this. Only one cracked, and so I’d suggest using Glossy Accents instead if you like the look.
I have a video to show you how this card came together, and I share more tips about applying the Glacier Paste and inking up the clouds! Watch it below or on YouTube:
I hope you enjoyed this Baby Shower card today. I kept the colors soft for this one! I’ll be back soon with more inspiration for this new kit and I can’t wait!
