Hey everyone, it’s Julianne here sharing my first Christmas card of the year using the new stamp set that’s included in the October 2020 subscription box. The card I made for today can definitely be mashed produced, it’s super simple to create.

I started out by trimming down a piece of white card stock to 3.5 by 6.5 in order to create a mini slimline card. I really like this size; it’s a great size if you are a fan of A2 size and want to try out slimline cards. Next I placed the smaller circle image that’s included in the stamp set and I stamped that image multiple times throughout my panel using four different colors from the Catherine Pooler inks: Sambra, Rocking Red, Lime Rickey, Grass Skirt. I really like these four colors together, I think it’s a nice variety. You could definitely use these colors, or you can use different shades of blues which I think would look really nice as well.

Once I had all my stamping done, I then started working on my background. I have a scrap drawer just full of different pieces of colored card stock and I really wanted a nice bold background. So I cut strips of two different greens as well as two different red shades into 1″ and 1/2″ strips. I also wanted to add in some gold, so I used some gold glitter card stock and cut those stripes into 1/2″ strips as well. I added all the strips to my mini slimline card base using liquid adhesive in an alternating pattern with the colors as well as the size of the strips.

Once I had all the strips adhered down, the next step was to start putting everything together. I added some red and green twine and wrapped it around my stamped panel twice and then I adhered that down to my card base using some foam adhesive for some added dimension. I also stamped and fussy cut out the Merry Christmas sentiment and adhered that to my card and finally I created a gold bow using some ribbon and adhered that directly over the twine in the center of my card.

And that completes my card for this week. I absolutely love the way that this came out and I hope that you do too. Make sure to check out the rest of the design team with their amazing creations using this box and I’ll see you next week. Happy Crafting!
