Hey Krafty Friends, Jen from Katahdin Krafts here and welcome back to the blog. For this weeks project I dabbled in some cool book tags, using stamps from the reading themed January Subscription Box. I thought they could make nice little gifts to include in a birthday card, or attached to a package.

The tag die I used for this project is Catherine Pooler’s “Heart ‘n Tags”, and most of my backgrounds were done with Nuvo Shimmer Powders.

After my Shimmer Powder backgrounds dried, I stamped directly onto the background with images above from the January Subscription Box. Then I cut them out with the die.

The brick tag is an embossing folder from my stash with distress ink blending onto the embossed side of the tag. Then I stamped the images with Copic friendly ink, Copic colored them, and fussy cut them out. The “dreaming” tag, has an Oxide Ink cosmic background with some shimmer splatter.

My final tag in this series has a Shimmer Powder background, topped with a Rose Background Die. Then I colored this sweet reading girl with Copic Markers in the following:

  • Skin/Hair: E21, E11 and R02. E19, YR18 and E97.
  • Dress: V12, V15 and V17.
  • Book: E31, E33, E35 and E37

I topped all the tags with a long piece of twine, in order to make it useful for a bookmark.

I love these cute little tags! The possibilities are really endless! Thanks so much for stopping in and krafting with me today! I will see you next week, with some more January Subscription Box inspiration! Happy krafting!
