Hi Krafty Friends! It’s Jen from Katahdin Krafts back on the blog today with this fun card from the January Subscription Box.
When I first received my January Box, I instantly saw this sweet girl sitting outside reading. I was going for simple, soft look…a nice stressless airy warm breeze kind of day. I pictured her sitting on a nice archway bench. I didn’t have exactly what I wanted in my stash, so I had to be extra creative to come up with a solution. I love how this came out!
The first thing I did was cut a card panel to 4″ x 5.25″, and inked up my sky with Tumbled Oxide Ink and My Favorite Things “Rolling Clouds” stencil (happy accident with the heart shape in the sky)! I inked up the bottom of my card with Bundled Sage Oxide Ink and Lawn Fawn’s “Grassy Hillside” stencil.
Next, I found my archway hidden in the “Small Gothic Window” from Poppy Stamps, that I’ve had in my stash forever!
I stamped out my reading girl and used Copic Markers to color her.
- Dress: RV32 & RV34
- Skin: E21, E11 & R02. Hair: E33, E35 & E37
- Book: YR24 & YR27
Then I adhered the window and girl to my card, centering them. I stamped my sentiment in the corner and added a few dew drops for some cute interest.
Next, I cut my card base 8.5″ x 5.5″ and scored at the 4.25″ mark. I used the RV34 marker to go around the edges. Then I adhered my card panel to the base. Super simple, yet super sweet!
Thanks so much for visiting with me today! I love reading, so do my children, this January Subscription Box is perfect! See you all next week with my next project! Happy krafting!
