Hi Krafty Friends, welcome to my first card from the October Subscription Box! This months box is full of goodies from Maker Forte . I chose to work with the “Around Winter” stamp set for my slimline card. This is a sweet set that includes mittens, snowflakes, presents and several sentiments that are perfect for winter or holiday cards.

The first thing I did was cut my Neenah Solar White Cardstock to 8.5″ x 3.5″, then I dusted it with my antistatic tool (which I forget way too often). I positioned my paper in my Misti, and overlapped the stamp, in order to fit several images on my card base. I used Maker Forte, Color Hive Clear Ink to stamp out my images.

In order to protect the image from my fingers when stamping the rest of the card I used clear embossing powder, and heat embossed my first image.

I then put my card base back in my Misti and stamped the other end, and repeated the process.

Next, I lined up the smaller present images and stamp two in the center, and heat embossed them as well.

All of this prepared the panel for an ink resist technique with my Distress Oxides. I used Cracked Pistachio, Shaded Lilac and Tumbled Glass to ink up my card panel. I was going for a soft palette of colors.

I then used my microfiber cloth and wiped the ink off of the embossed elements of the card, this makes them pop back up to the focal point of the card (the ink resists the images that have been heat embossed).

I did the same technique to the “Peace on Earth” sentiment, then trimmed it down to size and used a corner rounder for softness. I wanted to pick up the same Spun Sugar in the sentiment for the frame in order to keep the color scheme cohesive. I cut the frame panel to 8.75″ x 3.75″, and also rounded these corners. Next, I cut a card base to 9″ x 8″ and scored at the 4″ mark, giving me a 9′ x 4″ slimline card base. I rounded the bottom set of corners on the base, then glued all my pieces together and added various snowflakes and jewels from my stash.

This would be a perfect mass produced Holiday Card! Its simple yet elegant and sends a loving warm message.

Thanks so much for stopping in, I hope you check out the October Subscription Box, this stamp set is just the icing on the cake! See you next week with another fun project!
