Hello! It’s Kari V. here again with another card using the October 2019 Kit! Do you ever make non-traditional Christmas cards? Here is one that is just a *little* different from the traditional red & green. I’m using pastel pinks and lime greens for this snowman card.
I colored up the snowman and gifts using pinks and light green alcohol markers and fussy cut them out. To make the background, I used a stencil and some stencil brushes to brush on three different pink inks. I was going for an Ombre look here, with the darker pinks in the lower right hand corner.
I cut a scalloped frame from Lawn Fawn glitter paper in a light green to frame the images. Then I stamped on the sentiment with VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat set clear embossing powder over it so I wouldn’t smear the words. This is my favorite trick when using VersaFine…since it is a pigment ink, it takes longer to dry. So when I want to make sure I’m not going to mess it up, I use clear embossing powder!
I attached the glitter frame and skinny white frame to the stamped and stenciled background. Then I used my favorite liquid adhesive (Nuvo Deluxe) to adhere the presents. For the snowman, I popped him up with foam tape for a bit of dimension.
I just love that buffalo plaid background with this cute snowman and all his gifts! This was an easy card to put together, which is a bonus!
I’ll be back soon with more inspiration for you.
