I am sharing a card made with the most recent Hedgehog Hollow Subscription Box. I am having so much fun designing with all of the fun designs on the petals. I have chosen to make this flower card a dimensional one. In the box are stencils to go along with the stamps and I love how well this stencil of leaves works so well with the stamp set. The petals are fairly large so I am making a 5×7 inch card.
The first step is to choose the patterns and ink colors to use to create the focal image. I picked five petals and stamped each petal twice one each in two shades of the same color. My plan is to use the darker shade as the base layer so it looks like it is shadowed. Next I stamped the center for the flower.
Next I cut the card base in a medium shade of gray. I know it appears to be a shade of blue which would also work but my lighting must be affecting the true color. Sorry about this. My next step was to cut a white layer one to use as the back ground for the flower. Onto this layer I used the stencil of vines of leaves to make a tangle of vines. The vines were colored in using two shades of green. Again this was done to create the appearance of shadows.
The final step is to attach the petals to the card. The first layer of the darker petals were glued directly onto the card and the lighter colored petals were attached using foam squares to add dimension to the flower. I made sure the petals were off set so both layers can be seen. The final step was to attach the flower center and add the ting ladybug to one of the petals. The ladybug is part of the stamp set and is as cute as can be!
I decided to stamp the sentiment directly onto the card using a black ink. With one final look I knew I needed a bit of embellishments so I added a few buttons along the vines.
With spring coming fast be sure and check out this great spring stamp set in the subscription box. I know you will love it as much as I do.
