Hello! It’s Kari here today with a quick Musical card using the foilable ephemera in the May Kit! I love this ephemera…and at first I didn’t quite understand how it worked. But today, I show you how cool it really is! You will be able to use your same foil piece TWICE. Let me show you…
I have a short video that explains it all and creates this quick card. Watch it below or in HD on YouTube:
To create this card, first stamp the background stamp in the kit on an A2 panel. I used Distress Oxide ink for this and stamped it two times to cover the whole panel.
Next, foil your ephemera. Find the pieces that “match” in each of the ephemera packages. Cut some foil down to fit and run the first piece through your Minc machine or laminator. Then use the remaining foil on the second all-black piece of ephemera.
On this card, I chose to use the Second piano (with only the foil outline) and the First musical notes (with the notes foiled). Watch the video to see exactly what I mean by this! It’s so much easier to show in a video than explain in a blog post! 🙂
Then stamp and heat emboss the sentiment of your choice on black cardstock. Here I framed it with Lavender cardstock.
Then put it all together…glue down the sentiment and frame. I used a “leftover” rainbow frame I had lying around waiting to be used. Then add the piano and music ephemera with foam tape.
And that’s it!! A simple card made so glorious with the foilable ephemera! I love it and I hope you have found you love it, too.
See you soon with more card inspiration!
