To get started, I grabbed a piece of white cardstock and the heart stencil from the December box. I picked out three Distress Oxide ink pads – Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, and Mermaid Lagoon. I love that you can create a rainbow with just three colors!
I placed my stencil on my cardstock – you can secure it in place with washi tape if you’d like. This is a delicate stencil, so you’ll want to be gentle with your ink blending, so it doesn’t move. I started with the Picked Raspberry ink and blended it at the top of my cardstock. As I worked my way down, I lightened my pressure, so the color faded as I moved.
Then, I grabbed the Mustard Seed ink. I started a little lower than where my Picked Raspberry ended – this way, the darkest yellow is lower, and then I could blend lightly up into the lightest pink to get a nice orange mixture. I did the same thing moving downward and then moved into the Mermaid Lagoon.
Once I finished my ink blending, I trimmed the card panel to 4×5.25 and mounted it on a white A2 sized card base. That’s it! This is a super simple card made by rainbow ink blending with a stencil! What do you think about today’s card? Are you into simple and easy cards, or do you prefer ones with a little more substance to them? Let us know in the comments!
