I used my lighting to show you the foil on my card.

Hey Krafty Friends, this is Jen from Katahdin Krafts on the blog today with a cute kitty card from the February Subscription Box. This box is brimming with all sorts of pet themed goodies! We have five pets in our home, so this is a box that will be well used!

The first thing I did was pick through the fun black and white paper pack and selected a couple of patterns to hot foil. Did you know that all Hedgehog Hollow’s papers are printed with a toner ink, that can be directly hot foiled? How cool is that? I love this about the papers, they are also super thick and durable.

I hot foiled several pieces in different colors, once I start foiling I never want to stop! The piece that I selected to use had “Rainbow Shattered Glass” from Deco Foil.

Next, I used my Misti Stamping Tool to position the Love stamp from the “Puppy Love” stamp set (we are going to pretend that its kitty love). Then I inked it with the nice juicy Maker Forte Eclipse Black Remarkable Ink. This ink has the best coverage I’ve personally found. I did stamp this twice because the image has a lot of solid ground. Once I did this, I decided to go over the image again with Maker Forte’s Clear Embossing Ink and Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder. This gives a little gloss and dimension to the image.

I wanted to add some sweet little critters to my card, and decided on Honey Bee Stamps “Curious Kitties” stamp and die set. I stamped three of the images onto cardstock with my Maker Forte’s Eclipse Black ink. Then used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I positioned them around the “Love”, making them look like they were crawling over it. I thought it was aesthetically pleasing to leave the kittens white, I really didn’t want the focus to be on them.

I went through my flower stash and picked out some bright rainbow colors to add to my card panel. Next, I adhered my card panel to my base in a bright lime green, and added all my elements to the card.

I love this! I am so excited how bright, and fun this card turned out to be. Thanks so much for visiting with me, I hope you are enjoying your February Subscription Box as much as I am! I will see you back next week for my next project! Happy krafting!
