Hi Krafty Friends, Jen from Katahdin Krafts, back on the blog today with this fun rockin’ rainbow foil card! I had so much fun playing with my toner paper and foils to create this card.

The first thing I did was foil a ton of the music ephemera (so now I have a lot ready for several quick and easy cards when I need them in a pinch). My foiling process: I first use my foiling dedicated Maker Forte rainbow brush and dust my ephemera pieces. This removes an excess toner and gives it a much cleaner foiling look. I then place my foil shiny side up on the ephemera, add a piece of cardstock behind it for stability purposes and run it through my hot laminator twice. Then I brush my image again removing any overfoiling that may occurred. What is extra fun about Maker Forte’s ephemera is that there are companion pieces. You can foil your main image then use the negative piece to foil on the companion for another awesome fun look! I love how they work hand and hand, genius!

Next, I selected a piece of paper from the “Black to Basics Patterned Square Paper Pack”, cut it down to 4″ x 5.25″ and foiled this using the same process as above. Then I cut the whole panel with Trinity Stamps “Slimline Center Burst Die Set”. I separated the pieces and arranged them on top of a solid blue 4″ x 5″ piece of cardstock.

Then I cut my card base to 8.5″ x 5.5″ and scored at the 4.25″ mark. I then placed my blue panel on the card base, leaving more room towards the bottom. I selected the drum set for this card, but there are so many fun ephemera images to select from! I adhered my drums and now I have this amazingly shiny card to brighten someones day! Rock on!!

Thank you so much for krafting with me again today, I will see you next week with another fun project! Happy Krafting!!
