Simple Masculine Card

Do you find it difficult to create a masculine card? It is probably the hardest style for me personally, but this month’s box from The Hedgehog Hollow makes it so simple. It’s just a matter of finding the right stamps and this box is jam packed.

When I first saw the Man Glitter stamp set, I knew I had to use it. I love the fun sign style of the sentiment and the different images in the design. As I thought about my card today, I had a fun idea to stamp the one design in several ink colors. Paired with a bold masculine pattern paper and simple bow detail, I think it turned out great!

Simple Masculine Card

This is a really simple idea but it does work best if you have a type of stamp positioner. My favorite for this technique is the MISTI.

To start, just ink up one part of your image in one color. I started with the trees in a light green with a darker green just along the edges. I didn’t bother to mask the rest of the image, though; just used a baby wipe to remove any ink that got where I didn’t want it. Then, I closed the door of my MISTI and stamped. I repeated that process with the rest of the image.

When I got to the saw blade, I inked it up in grey and black just like I did the trees. I also added a little shimmer to that part with a glitter pen.

To see the entire process come together, watch my video about making this masculine card below. It really is a fun idea and can be used with other fun sentiment stamps like this one!
