Hi Krafty Friends, Jen from Katahdin Krafts, back on the blog today with this fun bookmark using products from the January Subscription Box!
The first thing I did for this project was stamp out my images on Copic friendly cardstock, with Lawn Fawns Jet Black Ink. I layered the larger rectangle image from the stamp set “Coffee & Books” with the sentiment from “Let’s Have a Word.”
Then I used Lawn Fawn’s smaller frame from “Large Slimline with Sliders” die set to cut out my images.
Next, I cut out the base of my bookmark in craft cardstock with a die from Pinkfresh Studios “Slim Ornate Banner” set. I then lined up the same die with my bookmark and cut it again so the ornate tops would match.
Then I used my Copic Markers to color in my image.
- Teacup: YR12, YR14, YR16, E000 & E00
- Book Pages: E41, E42 & E43
- Book Covers: E08, E09, E35, E37 & E87
- The Middle: B91
I used finger daubers and brushed Vintage Photo and Chipped Sapphire Oxide inks along all the edges of my bookmark and base. I adhered the panel to the base with liquid glue, and set an eyelet from my stash into the top center of the bookmark.
I then removed the backing of an earring I picked up at a park sale and had in my stash. This enabled me to use this piece for an ornamental aspect on my project. I combined pieces of jute and twine and threaded them through the earring and then the eyelet to make a dangle.
This was a super fun project to create! My oldest daughter is an adamant reader, and has already claimed the bookmark! The January Subscription Box is chock-full of lovely reading themed stamps! I’m looking forward to an exciting month of krafting! Thanks so much for visiting with me! See you next week, happy stamping!https://linkdeli.com/widget.js?id=f5e8378456858c916708
