Hello!  It’s Jill from Jill Cameron Creations.  Today I’m sharing a simple and bold square graphic Valentine’s card.  I’m using the background stamp in the December Hedgehog Hollow kit.  When I first saw it, I thought of the subway art graphics and wanted to create something fun and bold with the background stamp.

Square Graphic Valentine’s Card

This card is super simple to make and would make a great mass production card.  I kept the size of the square pretty standard, so it would be easy to either purchase an envelope or make an envelope for the card.

First, I cut the card base to 10″ x 5″ and scored it at 5″ on the short side for a finished size of 5″ x 5″.  I used a not-exactly-kraft cardstock, but kraft cardstock would be pretty with this design too.

I cut down a piece of white cardstock to 4″ x 4″ and generously applied an anti-static powder tool.  Next, I stamped the background image in Versafine Onyx Black.   Then, I used clear embossing powder over the entire surface.  Be sure to melt all of the embossing powder completely.  If you use a stamping platform, then you can stamp the image more than once and create incredible depth with embossing powder.

I then stamped one of the sentiments included with the background stamp in dark red ink on a strip of white.  I added a strip of dark red cardstock behind it, so it seriously stands out against the background.

Lastly, I stamped the corner stamp around the edge of the card base and popped up the background embossed image on foam tape.  Amazing!!

I love how this card turned out, and this background stamp made it happen!  Don’t forget to head over to the Hedgehog Hollow Shop to pick up your December kit today!
