Hi HHH friends!
Kari W back with you today sharing this card that I created using one of the border type images from the September 2019 box. I wanted to do something a bit different with my border, so I decided to stamp on the diagonal.
Now, these image does not stretch across in one stamping on the longest area of the card stock, so there was some strategic inking of my stamp that I had to do, but it was all worth the effort. For my stamping, I used 6 colors of Distress Oxide Ink, and they stamped beautifully with this image! I didn’t even use a stamp positioner tool – just your ole’ fashioned acrylic block 🙂
Once I got going with the stamping, it came together fairly quickly. If you will also notice that with each stamping, I made sure that the image didn’t line up with the previous stamping. I wanted them to be offset from each other.
Once the background panel was complete, I worked on the rest of the card by stamping out the circle peacock image onto a piece of white cardstock and cutting that out with a circle die that fit perfectly.
I also die cut a piece of the vellum that come in the Sept box with the next sized up circle die to give it a border. I also stamped out my sentiment onto a skinny black card stock strip, and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Initially, when putting my card together, I wanted my sentiment to be popped up off of the card, but once I got it adhered, I didn’t like it for some reason, so I removed it carefully from my card and adhered it flush down. And, my card was complete.
I love the contrast of black and white with pops of color like a rainbow! This would be a great card to give for someone’s birthday, because of the happy colors, as well as the sentiment chosen for the card. Thank you all for stopping in today! Be sure to watch the video as well to see how it all comes together. Be sure to check out the Exclusive September 2019 box from The Hedgehog Hollow and I will see you right back here on the blog soon!
