Hello again! It’s Kari and today I have a fun project using the October box. When I first saw the stamp from the box that said “I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers” I just knew right away that I wanted to make little wooden signs for the dinner table with that set!
So today I am going to show you just how easy it is to stamp and heat emboss on wood. There are just a few tips and tricks that I will share in the video below.
First, I used acrylic paint to paint each of my wooden signs (these measure just under 4 x 4″ each) and let them dry completely.
Then, I stamped the red one using versafine Onyx Black ink. I found that a permanent ink works the best on the treated wood.
For the black one, I heat embossed the sentiment using Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder. Isn’t it pretty?! Be sure to use an embossing powder bag before you try to emboss on the wood, it makes a big difference. I also heat embossed some clear embossable acrylic in the same color and cut them out. Then I attached them to the sign.
I used gold embossing powder on the cream colored sign. Then wrapped some raffia around and added a gold embossed image from the same “Octobers” stamp set.
For the complete instruction, watch my video here or on YouTube.
It really is an easy, fun look and so simple to do when you know just the right tricks!
I hope you enjoyed this project today. I’ll see you next time!
