Hi everyone, it’s Julianne here back with another card. This week I’m going to be showing you how I created this sugar skull shaker card using some of the amazing products in the September 2020 Subscription Box. I am just in love with this month’s box and when I saw those large sugar skulls I knew I wanted to create a shaker card.

I started out by trimming down a piece of black colored card stock as well as a piece of xpress it blending card stock to 5.25″ x 5.25″ and I stamped one of the large sugar skull images in the center using some memento tuxedo black ink onto both sheets and I used the sugar skull outline die to cut out the stamped image on the black card stock so that I could create my shaker window.

I then colored in my sugar skull using a variety of copic markers in order to match some sugar skull pattern paper that I have from Whimsy Stamps. I knew I wanted to have that pattern paper be in the background of my card so I wanted to pick colors that would match. Once I had everything colored, the next part is my favorite when it comes to creating shaker cards; and that’s where I finally get to add in all the beautiful embellishment mixes that will make up my shaker.

You can see how this card came together here on my YouTube channel

After I added in a bunch of different embellishments, I adhered my shaker window directly over my sugar skull using foam adhesive so that way my sequins could move around freely in my shaker. To finish off my card I added a sentiment from the Day of the Dead Word Sentiment Stamp set and finally I adhered my shaker down to my cardbase.

Thank you all for stopping by and spending some time with me today, I hope you enjoyed my sugar skull shaker card, and I hope you have found some inspiration on how you can use this stamp and die set from your box as well. I will be back next week using the other stamps included in this month’s box. Have a wonderful day & Happy Crafting!
