Hi Everyone, Jenny here, and I’ve got another card project for you today featuring the goodies that were in the April 2019 Hedgehog Hollow box. As the weather has finally started warming up here, I decided to go for more of a summery feel on this card, featuring bright pinks and yellows!
I used one of the Art Impressions card bases included in the box, folded it and rounded the corners. I then used the Midas Touch Nuvo Shimmer Pen included for regular subscribers to scribble over the background left to right – it’s hard to see in the photos but it adds a subtle gold shimmer and some interest to the plain white. I also used it to spatter some gold for good measure.
I used the dies from the box to cut lots and lots of the flowers in yellow and pink cardstock from the box, as well a few vines from the pre-embossed green cardstock. I then adhered them together with glue dots to create a bit of dimension, layering in twos and threes. I added the vines directly to the card base, and then popped up the flowers on more glue dots. I added a few of my left overs on their own.
I stamped the sentiment from the Art Impressions stamp set in Nuvo Hybrid Black Ink (from the box!) directly onto the card base. I then stamped the birds (one facing each way) onto Copic friendly white cardstock and colored them with yellow and pink Copics. I then die cut them out and popped them up on foam squares around the flowers.
As a very last finishing touch I added some Nuvo Drops in Pale Gold to the flower centres and in a few places around the flowers.
I love the versatility of these birds – you can really make them any color you like to fit the mood – and the season!
