Hello, it’s Kari here again with some cute SUSHI cards for you today! Have you ever struggled to create a scene with cute images? Here’s an easy way to create a great look on your cards with stencils!

For all three cards today, I used a window stencil and some creative inking techniques to get different looks (I share how to do this in my video below).

For this card with the sun rays in black glitter, I used the DOUBLE stencil technique, which is one of my favorites and so easy for adding extra interest! Watch the video below or in HD on YouTube for all the details:

These Kawaii sushi are some of my favorites, and I had a great time coloring them up with Copics. I popped them up with foam tape on the background and added some sentiments from the set to finish them off.

If you look closely, you will see that the soy sauce was colored in a dark brown. On one of the bottles I accidentally positioned it so the soy sauce was leaning toward the wrong side! Did you notice? Most people will not notice, and so I want to tell you to just HAVE FUN with your coloring and don’t worry too much about the details or the light source.

For the rice I used Cool Grays to dot on some color and give the impression of little rice granules.

I finished off the caviar and salmon inside the roll (is it a California roll? A Vegas Roll? Who knows…) with some glossy accents to catch the light!

I drew on the lines for the shrimp and the salmon (which I think looks a bit like a pink eraser…LOL!) but it gives it a little more definition.

I hope you enjoyed these projects with our cute sushi characters today! I can’t wait to see what you design with them!

Kari V.
