Hello, it’s Kari today with some sweet ideas for adding details to your peanut butter and jelly cards! If you’ve seen the July 2020 Hedgehog Hollow Kit, you know there are some cute food images in there…and they make cute cards. The peanut butter & jam jars are ready and waiting for some details on their lids and today I’ll show you how I did that.

Aren’t they just so sweet?! I used Copic markers to color the images, and to add details to those lids. I thought that jam jar should have a little gingham! I also use the stencil from the kit to give the background some excitement.

Watch the video below or in HD on YouTube to see the whole process:

I love the sentiment in this set, perfect for this card: “Your the peanut butter to my jelly.” Super cute.

Do you see that shine to the peanut and the strawberry? I added some Glossy Accents detail on those to make them stand out. I think glossy accents would look great over the entire label, too.

To choose the colors for the background, I pulled out my color chart that I created with the May Kit….it was so helpful to see those colors of Distress Ink to pick the ones that looked most like peanut butter and grape jelly. AND I finally used my new blending brushes (which I LOVE, by the way). I’ve linked everything below if you are interested in the supplies.

Thanks for stopping by today! What’s your favorite way to add details to your cards? See you soon,

Kari V.
