Happy Mid April, friends! Jen here today sharing two cards using the April Hedgehog Hollow box. Have you been having fun creating with yours? I know that I have!
This quick and easy card was created by stamping the VW bug onto a piece of cardstock with Versafine black ink. I then used clear embossing powder over the top of the ink and melted that with a heat tool.
Next, I chose two really bright watercolor shimmer powders from my stash. I added the first powder by sprinkling the powder over the cardstock and then spritzing with water to activate. I then dried the cardstock with a heat tool. I then repeated the process with the second powder.
I then stamped and cut the VW bug again onto a scratch piece of paper and fussy cut this out to create a mask. The mask was placed over the original image and the tie-dye stencil was applied over the image. Picked raspberry and salty ocean Distress inks were then blended through the stencil.
To finish the card, the ying-yang stamp was stamped and fussy cut and adhered over the front of the VW bug. The Feeling Groovy stamp was stamped onto the panel using Versafine Clair.
This card uses the awesome VW bug layering stencil from the box.
I started with a white card panel cut to 4 ¼ x 5 ½ . I layered the stencil from the bottom to the top. In other words, I started with the windows and blended salty ocean Distress Oxide through the stencil. Next, the “V” portion of the VW was lined up to match and blended with picked raspberry Distress Oxide. Then the bottom portion of the car was lined up and blended with twisted citron Distress Oxide. Finally, the fourth stencil with the bumper and lights were added using pumice stone Distress Oxide.
To complete the card, the cute gnome was stamped off-center using pumice stone Distress Oxide. The sentiment was added using Color Hive clear embossing ink covered with gold embossing powder.
I hope that you enjoyed this tutorial and that it inspires you to create something today! Thanks so much for stopping by!
