I hope you’re all having a wonderful weekend! I have a card today featuring the July Hedgehog Hollow box combined with Daniel Smith watercolors (I’m using the dot cards).
I stamped the butterflies in embossing ink and then heat embossed them in WOW! Gold Pearl onto hotpress watercolor cardstock. (This embossing powder isn’t one of the four included in the kit, but all of them are gorgeous and work perfectly for a card like this).
I then watercolored in the butterflies using Daniel Smith watercolors in blues and pinks, letting them blend together on the large wings to create purple. I also added a little sepia to the butterflies bodies, and a few splatters over the panel for good measure!
To give the illusion of a shadow, I drew around the butterflies with the lightest grey Tombow Marker.
For my sentiment, I stamped one of those from the small stamp set in the box onto Navy cardstock that I had in my stash, that co-ordinated with the navy envelope in the box. I used WOW! Embossing ink and heat embossed it with WOW! Opaque Bright White embossing powder. I then popped it up on to my butterfly panel.
I matted the panel onto a navy panel before mounting it onto one of the card bases from the box. As a finishing touch I added some clear Nuvo Drops and some pink crystals by Studio Katia for a little sparkle.
Just love these butterfly stamps – I hope you have a wonderful day!
