Hi Krafty Friends! Jen here, back on the blog today with this cute slimline holiday card. For this card I used the November Subscription Box along with the “Dutch Village” stamp set from Maker Forte. Looking at the sentiment from “Baby, it’s Cold Outside” stamp set I knew it would pair perfectly with the “Dutch Village.”
Starting my slimline card I cut a piece of heavy weight cardstock to 8.75″ x 3.75″, I then inked my sky background with distress inks in “Chipped Sapphire”, “Seedless Preserves” and “Broken China.” I kept blending the three colors until I was satisfied with my nighttime sky. I spritzed the background with water in my distress sprayer. Then I splattered distress paint in “Picket Fence” mixed with kaleidoscope powder in “Snow Flurries” to make nice shimmering snowflakes.
Making my snow hills, I cut another piece of cardstock to 8.75″ x 3.75″ and then used long scissors to make my own wavy hills. I then touched the edges with some of the same distress inks for definition. I then used my Misti Stamping Tool to stamp the sentiment “Walking in a Winter Wonderland” on the large hill. Next, I layered the hills onto my dried card panel, leaving the top edges unglued so I could slide my stamped images under.
Next, I stamped all my images onto Copic friendly cardstock and cut them out with my Brother Scanncut. I love adding extra details to my images, for the “Townhouse” I used a straight edge (not measuring) to make lines representing bricks. Then I used my Copic markers to blend and shade. I wanted some cobblestones on the cute bridge, so I used a Copic thin multiliner pen to make my stones. Then colored these in with Copic markers adding some dimension. I finished coloring the rest of the images with Copic markers as well.
For the tree I added some Crown Gems in various colors, for some holiday bling. I adhered all my images onto my card, and then attached my card panel to my 9″ x 4″ card base.
I love how it turned out! The “Dutch Village” is one of my favorite sets this season! It really does look like you can take a nice stroll in this winter wonderland! I can hear the sleigh bells ringing now!
Thanks for krafting with me again today! I will be back next week with some more winter inspiration for you, until then take care and happy krafting!https://linkdeli.com/widget.js?id=f5e8378456858c916708
