Hey friends! It’s Victoria and I am back with a fun shaker card using the August 2020 Subscription Kit. Shaker cards are so much fun and very easy to make. A shaker element can be filled with a variety of elements to include sequins or glitter!
Supplies
For this project, I used the following supplies:
- Hap-Bee Honeycomb Stencil
- Hap-Bee Stamp Set
- 4.25 x 5.50 inch white card stock base
- 4.00 x 5.25 inch white card stock panel
- Frame Die Set by Hero Arts
- Sequin by Catherine Pooler
- White Embossing Powder by Recollections
- VersaMark Embossing Ink
- Glitter Pen from Nuvo by Tonic USA
- Alcohol Makers by Masters Touch (Hobby Lobby)
Instructions
To begin, I created a repetitive stamp design on a 4.0 x 5.25-inch white card panel using the honey stick stamp image from the Hap-Bee Stamp Set and Archival Black Ink. Then. I adhered the panel to a 4.25 x 5.5-inch card base.
Next, I created a small shaker element using a frame die from Hero Arts. I used tan dye-based ink from Close to My Heart to color blend the frame. For the base of the shaker, I created an ink blended stencil design using dye ink by Catherine Pooler and the Hap-Bee Stencil from the kit. To the frame, I adhered a piece of clear acetate to serve as a window for the shaker element. Then, I added foam strips to the edges of the frame to prevent the shaker elements from spilling out.
To finish the shaker, I added sequins to the base of the shaker element and adhered the frame in place. Next, I colored two of the bee stamp images from the Hap-Bee Stamp Set using alcohol markers by Masters Touch (Hobby Lobby). I fussy cut and positioned the bees on top of the shaker window.
For the sentiment, I heat embossed the “You’re the Bee’s Knees” stamp using clear embossing ink and white embossing powder. The sentiment was trimmed using a banner die and added to the frame.
This Hap-Bee stamp set is so much fun to use! I hope you are inspired to use this stamp and other supplies to make a fun shaker card. Thanks so much for stopping by!
