Hi Hollowers!

Welcome to another installment of Saturday Stamping with Honey Bee Stamps.  This week we have Part 2 of 3 in our Zen Ocean – 3 weeks, 3 ways mini series.  Last week we made a stunning watercolor shaped card, click here if you didn’t see it.  This week we are making a black and white card using my new black artist tiles and the Kirarina Wink Markers, these are made by imagine international, the same lovely people who make Copic Markers.  You can buy them individually or in sets of 4, if you buy all the sets you end up with a couple of white duplicates, I actually find that handy as these are a true white pen, they remind me of a metallic paint marker but a very fine tip; so I end up using the whites alot!  Let’s have a look at today’s project…

We are going to make a super easy gatefold card, the coloring is so effective and so vibrant on black cardstock (it looks great on white too!), the sentiments are heat embossed and I plan to write inside the cards using the same markers so it will show up like the front, if this didn’t suit your recipient or use you could easily add an extra 5″ square layer on top of the black, stamp your sentiment with black ink on the white; you will still get all the impact and you could use any pen too.  Of course Saturday Stamping is not complete without a tutorial, so let’s get started!

As always, you are welcome to share the video, blog post or pin any of the pictures, this is the second image shown in the video….

Finally, no tutorial is complete without a supply list, I am a real fan of these artist tiles, I found them whilst watching videos about the Gel Press, they are 6″ square, they come in black or white; I must admit the weight concerned me but I have thrown markers and watercolors at them and they have stood up brilliantly, I wouldn’t use them as a card base but so a tough black paper, where the die won’t run and won’t buckle with water then this stuff is great!

Before I go I will also be giving one lucky reader some happy mail including a white kirarina pen and a handmade card from an HH video.  Just leave a comment on this blog with you favorite color used in today’s project, before midnight Friday 18th August EST, I will select one winner at random to be announced in next Saturday’s post.  You will have 48 hours to claim or another winner will be redrawn.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you will join me next week for another Saturday Stamping post when we will have another Zen Ocean idea for you, I will also have some more card making tutorials coming up later in the week so stay tuned!

Happy Stamping!
